MyJobMatcher releases new features!

So three months in and we have launch the V2 platform of MyJobMatcher which has loads of great new features and functions that provide our candidates with a more ‘user friendly and slick’ process of applying for jobs.

Key features we’ve introduced are:

Email – We now send the daily email with 5 new jobs within the body of text, each job has the link attached to now take you directly to the job, saves you time and makes applying for your preferred job that much easier.

Filters – Our filters box has been vastly improved and we will continue to add to this so that we deliver the most accurate results possible for your search.

FTP – This stands for ‘‘ and what it means to our users is we now have an even greater ability to import new jobs to match to our users.  We are now feeding in 200,000 new jobs a day in the UK alone! With the USA now standing at nearly 2 million jobs.

Geo positioning – We have mapped our users globally now and we know where they are browsing from when they sign up to MyJobMatcher.  Armed with this information we included this as an auto filter when suggesting job matches meaning our users see jobs in the country they reside in.  Moving forward we will increase the effectiveness of our Geo Positioning to work so that we can accurately locate jobs automatically within a 50 mile radius of their location.  For now, if your based in the UK then you will see jobs in the UK.

 

We will continue to work towards continuously improving our service for our users.  Our mission is to make Job seeking easy!

Advice from the MyJobMatcher team about the Perfect CV Template.

Writing the perfect CV means a lot more these days than it used too years ago; before the internet took supremacy over being ‘the’ place people search and apply for a job.

So why does a well written and constructed CV impact on your online experience as well as whether an employer will be enticed by your CV and wish to contact you.  The reason being is that your CV contains a great deal of content information about you, which most Job Boards and employments sites (such as MyJobMatcher.com) read and match to jobs within their database.

Based on what you have written in your CV, the depth you have gone into and the way it is written will dramatically ‘increase or reduce’ the level of jobs you are matched too and the number of opportunities that are put in front of you.

The typical structure of a CV is as follows:

Contact Details:

  • Name.
  • Address.
  • Contact Number.
  • Email.

Personal Statement:

  • Your strengths character wise.
  • Strengths work wise.
  • Your attitude to work.
  • Attitude to others and teams.
  • What you enjoy work wise.
  • What you are looking for in a new job.
  • Where are you looking to go and what is the plan with your career.

Education:

  • Start from schooling that resulted in practical qualifications (GCSE’s/O Levels, SAT Scores etc in the USA).
  • College/Uni if any.
  • Professional Qualifications.
  • Work Qualifications.
  • Any Training Courses.
  • IT skills.

Work Experience:

  • Show all relevant work history.
  • Try to leave no gaps in your employment history and if their is a gap, explain why.
  • State what your role was in each job.
  • What you learnt in each role.
  • What you achieved in each role.
  • How you benefited your employer in each role.
  • What does all of the above offer to a new employer.
Interests:
  • Go into detail,  tell people what interests you and why.
  • How does this impact your character.
  • Show your true colours of who you are and why.

Further Recommendations which we would suggest writing; an extra piece about what you are looking for in a new job or career, especially if you are considering a career change as your CV will only produce matches according to your historic work/education, rather than what you are looking to move towards career wise.

We recommend that a CV should be no more than 2/3 pages long excluding any appendices as you are in danger of getting lots of irrelevant results from so much content and for the end reader, you will overwhelm them with information at which point most reader switch off.

Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Bob and I have been en-tasked with finding the world a new Job.

It’s a spiffing old role to have and I think its top draw!  A little more about ‘me’ I feel would be appropriate.  As I said, I am Bob and I was born into a small village near Oxfordshire, England.

Educated at Eton and from a very well groomed background! Some may say I’m posh but I would rather say I’m well spoken.

I’m looking for a career change so my CV isn’t bringing up the results I’m looking for.

We get this question fairly often and its a very valid one as people change careers all the time.  Our suggestion is very simple, write down the ideal job in detail what you are looking for and then upload it in the CV/Resume part of your MyJobMatcher.com account.

We call it writing the dream job spec and can actually be quite fun, but remember to be realistic as you will only get Bob finding jobs that are completely irrelevant and that’s not what we are about.
